What
sort of organisations can exhibit at New Dawn 08?
Any organisation in Aylesbury Vale (Bucks) that works with young
people can exhibit at the event. Please consider if you feel you
would like to exhibit or just network on the day. If you would like
to promote what you are doing for young people but would not like
a stand, we will still be able to include information about your
organisation on the day on the general information point.
How
much will it cost to book a pitch at the civic centre?
The maximum cost per pitch will be £75. This includes the 6ft table,
2m x 2m plot and powerpoint for plugging in equipment. We are applying
for grants to help cover the cost of the event. If we are successful
we will refund an amount to your organisation. At this stage, in
order to book your space, we do need to receive monies and a completed
form.
Who
will be visiting the event?
We are inviting young people and parents to come to the event via
our networks. We are releasing publicity packs for you to share
with your networks and will be using the local media to make sure
everyone knows what where and when! We are also releasing a 'Viral
Video' which young people will be able to share with their friends
to encourage them to come to the event. With prizes to be won and
other activities in the town centre to attract the crowd, we are
confident that as many people as possible in the community will
benefit from the event.
What
is 'Social Capital'?
This buzzword is starting to be used more and more. It is a term
used to describe bridging the gap in communities and placing value
on making our communities a better place to live where people can
interact from different ages, cultures and beliefs.
Do
we need to bring our own display boards?
We will not be providing any display space other than the tables
and dressing on the day. Please make arrangements to bring display
boards to the event. If you have a particularly large display board
that would not fit in the pitch space, please contact our project
organiser now so that we can facilitate this on the day.
